WHY USE TRULY NATURAL DEODORANT AND THROW OUT THAT STICK OF OLD SPICE?

What's the deal with commercial,

mass produced deodorants and antiperspirants??

Most commercial *deodorants available in stores today, contain toxic ingredients (FACT). Yet, deodorants and antiperspirants are used everyday by millions of people to reduce sweat and prevent odor.

But, why do we sweat? Sweating is a natural way for the body to cool itself when it is feeling overheated or stressed. The sweat releases built up toxins and dirt ,that carries a mild to strong odor; known as B.O. (body odor).

So no, we do not want to stop sweating.
Antiperspirants; actually act to *block the sweat glands from expelling sweat. (Oh no!)

But wait..is this just another health conspiracy? That has become popular to

ALUMINUM:: is a metal, which is used in antiperspirants to help block the sweat from escaping the pores. Aluminum has been linked to breast cancer in women and has also been linked to an increased risk of Alzheimer's disease.However, the FDA has not committed to classifying it as a carcinogen. Their position remains one of "wait and see" as more definitive studies are released. Sweating is a natural way for the body to release heat, and keep cool, the sweat also expels toxins and dirt (THIS IS GOOD). So if you use an antiperspirant that contains aluminum; chances are that you will possibly not sweat or (as much) , but you will be trapping that gunk inside you, which only builds up to create lumps and infections. You are also interrupting one of the most natural processes of the body.Worth it?



PARABENS:: Are a family of synthetic preservatives that are often found in deodorants . In fact, parabens are contained in an alarming amount of our body care products. A random sampling of 100 human urine specimens performed by the CDC showed that all 100 contained parabens. This demonstrates the high absorption rate of chemicals we place on our skin. The biggest concern is that the absorption of these chemicals will disrupt our delicate hormonal balance. This can lead to things like early puberty in children and an increased risk of hormonal cancers. Paraben exposure has also been linked to birth defects and organ toxicity. REALLY??



PROPYLENE GLYCOL:: is a synthetic liquid substance that absorbs water. Another common ingredient that is used in antiperspirants and deodorants. This is a petroleum based material that is used to soften cosmetic products due to its slick consistency. It is a cheap way to make skin care products more easily applicable to the skin. it was also found that PG provoked allergic reactions in patients with eczema and other skin allergies, even in formulations of much less than 50%.

The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) cites skin, liver and kidney damage that can result from contact with PG, and it gives safe handling instructions, calling it a hazardous substance.



PHTHALATES:: are esters of phthalic acid and are mainly used as plasticizers (substances added to plastics to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity). Phthalates are manufactured by reacting phthalic anhydride with alcohol(s) that range from methanol and ethanol (C1/C2) up to tridecyl alcohol (C13), either as a straight chain or with some branching. In studies of rodents exposed to certain phthalates, high doses have been shown to change hormone levels and cause birth defects. A 2009 study published in the Journal of Pediatrics found that prenatal phthalate exposure was related to low birth weight in infants. In 2009,South Korean scientists reported findings of a statistically significant correlation between urine phthalate concentrations in children and symptoms of ADHD.
