The clean deodorant

THE CLEAN DEODORANT
(TRULY NATURAL BY HONEYROZE)

So what are the alternatives
to toxic commercial deodorants?

How can we get down to the basics, using only natural*
herbs and oils, and still maintain a healthy underarm
environment?

To follow up from my last blog post , we will take a look at
just what's inside this *truly natural deodorant ...

Ingredients in Truly Natural Deodorant :

COCONUT OIL (EXTRA VIRGIN, ORGANIC) ::

Everyone may well know at this point that coconut oil is a mega rich source of “good” fat , and like many oils super moisturizing for the whole body. Coconut oil also contains, Lauric acid, a medium-chain fatty acid, and when present in the body, it is converted into monolaurin, a monoglyceride compound which exhibits antiviral, antimicrobial, antiprotozoal and anti-fungal properties. It acts by disrupting the lipid membranes in organisms like fungus, bacteria and viruses, thus destroying them. Effective, but is it toxic? No. Lauric acid is non-toxic, which gives it a distinct advantage over modern pharmaceutical drugs that are typically used to fight viruses, bacterial infections and fungal infections. Breast milk is the only other natural source that contains such a high concentration of lauric acid, which could explain the drastic decrease of infections of all types in breast-fed babies.
Yes, this is simply why there is no doubt that coconut oil is a perfect antidote for sticky situations! (armpits)

Baking Soda: “Sodium bicarbonate happens to be one of our most useful medicines because bicarbonate physiology is fundamental to life and health.” (From Winning the War on Cancer by Dr. Mark Sircus). Sodium Bicarbonate or Bicardbonate of Soda, is derived from a natural occurring mineral, and is one of the safest and most versatile substances around. Used since ancient times, for instance, the Egyptians used natron ( natural form ) as a soap for cleansing purposes. Later, anecdotal reports throughout history suggest that many civilizations used forms of baking soda when making bread and other foods that required rising. I'm sure you remember how your mother use to keep a box of arm & hammer in the back of the fridge, but why? To absorb the musty smells. Simply put, baking soda is a natural deodorizer and great for your underarms.

Shea Butter (raw):
Is a triglyceride (fat) extracted from a nut that grows on the African Shea tree. Shea butter is used in many cosmetic products today, but is also edible; in Africa it is prepared and used in meals. Since ancient times, this delicacy has been administrated for its healing properties. The goddess Cleopatra was known to use it, it has been noted that there were caravans hauling clay jars of it for cosmetic use. This butter was used to protect the skin and hair against the bright sun and the hot dry winds of the African desert. No wonder why it makes such an amazing moisturizer and is absolutely appropiate for use in an underarm cream!!!

Beeswax : Is an all natural wax produced in the bee hive of honey bees. It can be edible but does not digest well in the stomach of most mammals.( but still if you wanted to, you could eat it!) The wax is formed by sexless worker bees, which secrete it from eight wax-producing mirror glands on the inner sides of the sternites. Honey bees use the beeswax to build honeycomb cells in which their young are raised with honey. Locally sourced, and harvested with integrity, beeswax is used in Truly Natural Deodorant mostly for its binding and firming capabilities.

Arrowroot starch: is a starch derived from the rootstock of several tropical plants. The name may come from aru-aru (meal of meals) in the language of the Caribbean Arawak people, for whom the plant was a staple. Arrowroot is a pure starch and has been used in cooking; becoming popular during the victorian era. Arrowroot has less gluten than potato starch and thickens at a lower temperature. (So once again this ingredient is not only edible but obtained naturally, from a plant.)

Aloe Vera Gel (Aloe barbadensis):
Is a cactus plant that belongs to the Liliaceae family. It grows in dry climates such as those found in parts of Africa and India and has been used medicinally for centuries. Aloe leaves secrete a clear gel that when broken off from the rest of the plant that can be applied topically to heal wounds and soothe skin.
